11 aside tournament
A total of 58 teams competed in the first Hollands & Blair tournament over a sun baked garrison ground on the 21st & 22nd May. When I first suggested the idea 2 years ago a lot of people thought I was mad, the first tournament was set for august 2010 but 1 week before the tournament we were told the venue was double booked so regrettably we had to cancel.
Thanks to Keith Rudland who organised for us to use the garrison ground the tournament was rearranged. Im sure like me you have all played in or attended tournaments with our kids and all moaned when they run behind or any other thing that had gone wrong but now iv organised one I know just how much hard work it is. The day before it was due to start we had an U13s team pull out so Andy T rang round his trial lists and entered a trial team and what a day it turned out to be for them as they won the U13s competition beating Gillingham in the final 3-0. U14s was won by Gillingham as the beat Bexley Borough 1-0. U15s was won by Bearstead beating Rusthall 1-0. U16s was won by Ashford Borough beating Phoenix Sports on penalty’s 8-7 after a 0-0 draw.
Thanks to all that turned up and helped out. Admiral Plumpton, Shirley, Sir Piggott, Ella, Donna, Martin B, Sean, Ken B, Andy T, Deb, Andy B, Hayley Chelsea Jack K, Jo P, Lee Deb & parents and boys of U14s, Malcolm, Craig, Conner, Kev, Sophie, Mandy B, Lee Dan and his mate Rhys, Tubes, if iv missed anyone out I apologise.
Special thanks to Keith Rudland. Paul & Donna Flisher & Rosse. Without these people this tournament would not have happened.
Iv had e-mails from most clubs expressing how much they enjoyed the tournament and they look forward to coming back next year.

Well done to all the guys and girls associated with the Blair, a special mention to the referee at the Blair 1st team semi, in all my years as a player and watcher of the game i have never seen a ref offer such a fantastic performance, well done he needs a big pat on the back.
